BIOGRAPHY

Soprano Bibi van den Dijck has a clear lyrical sound. Her flexible voice allows Bibi to perform music from different styles; from baroque music to opera. From modern classical to jazz, theatre- and musical repertoire and improvisation.

Bibi sang solos in various oratorios, including Bach’s various passions and oratorios. The Requiem, the Krönungsmesse, Laudate Dominum and the Mass in C minor of Mozart, the Requiem of Brahms, Fauré and the Nelson Mass of Haydn. On the opera stage she sang with B.O.O.M! Bold Opera On the Move the roles of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte. In collaboration with Frank Groothof Muziektheater and the NJO Muziekzomer, she sang Pamina in De Toverfluit. At Opera Noord Holland she sang La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi and Marie in Die Verkaufte Braut. She also produced and sang a theatrical performance of Schubert’s Die Winterreise for KamerOperaFestival Maastricht.

As a choir and ensemble singer, Bibi sings with the Dutch National Touring Opera (NRO) and with Consensus Vocalis. She acts on behalf of the Diva Dichtbij Foundation as a Diva in living rooms in closed departments, with the long-term sick and elderly with dementia.

Bibi studied classical singing at the Rotterdam conservatory and jazz singing at the Maastricht conservatory. She is currently being coached by Ira Siff. In addition to her studies, she participated in master classes and lessons from, among others, Gemma Visser, AIMS International Music Summer School, The international Belcanto Academy and De Jekerstudio / Toneelacademie Maastricht.

She has also a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Sciences from the University of Maastricht and a master’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
